
Starting from Sept 18th to Oct 16th, 2020, ALGOA celebrated its 5th anniversary and its 6th Summit.
On Sept 18th, more than a thousand people from 33 countries all over the world participated at the 5th ALGAO Anniversary Celebrations which included the official launching of the Young Organic Global Network (YOGN) and the matriculation ceremony of the Organic Foundation Course. The events were stream-lived on Facebook and Youtube.
From Oct 12th to the 16th, the 6th ALGOA Summit was held under the banner of “Building Alliances Beyond Asia” together with the inaugural Summit of the Global Alliance of Organic Districts (GAOD). More than one thousand six hundred participants from 46 countries took part in the Summit sessions.
At the historic launching of GAOD, ALGOA, GAOD and LOAMCP-Ph signed an MoU on Group Membership and Membership Exchange whereby any member of ALGOA and LOAMCP-Ph gain automatic membership in GAOD, and any GAOD member in Asia would get automatic membership in ALGOA.
The Summit include high-level speakers from international organizations and prominent organic districts in Europe. The specific topics were discussed in seven working groups which covered the integrated management of Organic Districts; tourism / gastronomy; regenerative/organic farming; food processing from distribution to Consumption and food and nutrition security, quality and health; social issues, social agriculture – communities’ enforcement and urban-rural relations; communication; and youth and organic agriculture.
