The 5th ALGOA+4 International Summit on Organic Agriculture Policy was successfully held at Goesan County from the 18th to 20th of September 2019. More than 100 international delegates from all over the world convened to discuss how the organic movement have partnered with government units, like-minded organizations, research institutions and other stakeholders to foster growth in the organic sector.

The Summit started with an Opening Ceremony which was done by the President of ALGOA and host of the ALGOA Summit, Mayor Lee Cha Young of Goesan County and was shortly followed by a welcome speech by Mr. Zhou Zejiang, President of IFOAM Asia. Congratulatory Speeches were given by local key government officials Mr. Shin Dong Woon, President of the Goesan Local Assembly, Mr. Hang Chang Sub and Vice Governor of Chungbuk Province. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio of Nagaland, India as well as Ms. Peggy Miars, President of IFOAM Organics International also gave their congratulatory messages.

ALGOA Ambassador Woo Jong Jin gave the ALGOA Progress Report which was followed by the signing of the Membership of Commitment of 11 New ALGOA members which included 3 municipalities in the Philippines represented by their mayors. The opening ceremony was concluded by a group photo before the start of the summit presentations.
